Press Information for Immediate Release:

Education Charity to benefit from Royal County of Berkshire Show

The President of the Newbury and District Agricultural Society, Richard Fuller, has chosen The John Simmonds Trust as his charity for the year.

Richard said: “My particular interest has always been in educating people about the countryside and that is why my chosen charity is the John Simmonds Trust. It is so important that people, especially from the non-rural parts of Berkshire, understand what the countryside does and why they need it.”

The Newbury and District Agricultural Society organises The Royal County of Berkshire Show (20-21 September).  As well as being represented at the show with a tradestand, The John Simmonds Trust enjoys support from events during the year and receives the proceeds from a collection made at the annual President's Dinner.

The John Simmonds Trust is an educational charity formed to promote a love and understanding of agriculture and the countryside. The Trust also encourages leadership, self-confidence and mutual respect in young people. Rushall Manor Farm is a 700 year old farmyard based in the heart of the Pang Valley in Bradfield near Reading, Berkshire.
